We are often surprised to find out how little most children tell their parents about their school day! Our social media platforms allow teachers to give parents and carers an insight into their child’s learning. It is hoped that by posting children’s work and experiences in school , discussions at home are prompted, thus strengthening the home-school link.
We seek parental consent for photos of children to appear on social media and respect the decision of parents who do not wish for their child to appear online. We also ask the children, who are allowed to appear online, if they are happy for their photo to appear on the school social media account. By doing so, we encourage and support the child’s right to consent from an early age.
